New Growth Transit gets small communities moving

So far in 2023, the startup rural transportation provider New Growth Transit has provided nearly 5,000 rides to 3,000 people in rural west central Missouri. Core to this model are a volunteer driver network and ride scheduling using state of the art technology. Learn more in this START HERE webinar.

Our presenter Kelly Ast is the Regional Mobility Chief Officer at New Growth Transit, an affiliate of community development corporation New Growth and parent organization West Central Missouri Community Action Agency.

Her current work involves planning and development of mobility solutions for a 15-couny territory in west central Missouri. In the past four years these efforts involved planning that engaged more than 40 community partners, the launching of a volunteer transportation network, and significant program growth.

Ast came to New Growth Transit from the Vernon County-based population health initiative Healthy Nevada, where she worked to drive innovation in rural living and health care.
