Business Pivot Empowers Others
Building Businesses, Building Communities: The Ripple Effect of Tyler’s Vision
Tyler Throckmorton from Lincoln, Missouri, in Benton County near Truman Lake, is building a business that continues to positively impact his community. After discovering New Growth and getting the microloan that he needed, he brought to life We the People Cattle Company, a store front intended to cater to locals, not just lake visitors. The shop offered high-quality cut beef, seafood, and convenient take-and-bake meals. But, as Tyler considered expanding sales, economically shipping these products proved to be a challenge.
Rather than let this obstacle define him, Tyler pivoted. He discovered an untapped opportunity in the raw pet food market and launched We the People Pets, a brand focused on empowering pet owners to feed their furry companions nutritious meals while supporting regional businesses. This shift in focus not only helped his shipping challenge but also opened doors to collaboration and innovation.
Empowering Others, One Bite at a Time
We the People Pets isn’t just about fresh pet food; it’s about creating a network of mutual support and growth. Tyler’s approach includes:
Promoting Regional Businesses: Tyler is building partnerships with regional outlets to sell his products, leveraging social media to cross-promote and amplify their visibility as these collaborations continue to grow. This collaboration benefits both Tyler’s brand and his partners, fostering a sense of community and shared success.
Dog Breeder Program: Tyler’s program offers breeders discounts on pet food and a potential commission for referrals, aligning incentives and creating advocates for his brand.
Subscription Service: Tyler is developing a school and community subscription to teach pet owners how to make or supplement raw dog food. This service will not only educate but build a community of like-minded individuals committed to their pets’ health.
Beyond Business: A Legacy of Mentorship
Tyler’s vision doesn’t stop with pet food. Driven by his faith and a deep desire to give back, he co-founded the Saul to Paul Legacy Foundation, a ministry dedicated to mentoring boys without fathers or role models. Through this foundation, Tyler and his church aim to:
· Provide mentors who can attend important meetings, like Parents as Teachers, for boys who lack a support system.
· Cover costs for activities that keep boys engaged and connected.
· Eventually, teach trades or fund trade school education for boys as they graduate.
What makes this foundation even more impactful is its connection to Tyler’s business. Ten percent of pet food sales go directly to support the foundation’s work, creating a seamless link between his entrepreneurial success and his mission to uplift others.
The Ripple Effect
Tyler’s story embodies everything New Growth stands for: empowering individuals to achieve their dreams, fostering connections within communities, and creating lasting, positive change. By supporting Tyler’s vision, New Growth didn’t just help one person; it amplified his ability to impact countless others.
A part of this ripple effect comes from the loan program itself. The payments made by entrepreneurs like Tyler are reinvested into new loans, allowing New Growth to support even more dreamers in launching their businesses. This cycle of reinvestment strengthens the entire community, fostering a culture of shared success and opportunity.
At New Growth, we believe in the power of entrepreneurship to transform lives and communities. When we help one person build a business, the impact extends far beyond—to other businesses, families, and the community as a whole.
