New Growth Microloan Helps Launch Layne Weavers Dream Business
For Layne Weaver the journey to becoming an esthetician was more than completing a rigorous esthetics training program. Because in order to bring her dream to life in her community, she needed to start her own business too.
Her first step was reaching out to Kelly Asbury at the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at State Fair Community College in Sedalia, where she received invaluable help in crafting a solid business plan. While also juggling her training, Layne spent nearly a year perfecting her plan, only to realize she needed $3,000 to cover essential start-up costs for equipment, product, and insurance. Saving up such a sum seemed daunting, and she worried her dream might be postponed.
That's when Kelly introduced her to the New Growth Women’s Business Center for assistance with a business loan.
Layne recalls, “Working with New Growth was an easy, seamless process. The supportive atmosphere was amazing. They kept me organized and up-to-date on what was needed. Kim, who helped with my paperwork, was genuinely happy for me, and I got approved quickly. I would highly recommend New Growth and would gladly go through the process again if needed.”
With the loan secured, Layne is now ready to launch Sanctuary Esthetics at Bloom Beauty Bar in Sedalia, Missouri. Specializing in professional Korean skincare, along with lash lifts and tints, she’s excited to offer services that nurture and protect the skin.
“I absolutely love the salon I’m in. All the stylists are so friendly, and I’m already getting client referrals,” Layne excitedly shared.
