How the New Growth Women's Business Center Helped Samantha Richter Launch Preventive Foot Care, LLC

As a former licensed massage therapist and now a licensed manicurist, Samantha Richter had a great idea for a business. Preventive Foot Care, LLC would provide in-home clinical foot care services to individuals who have difficulty leaving their homes. Her goal was to make these services accessible and affordable, especially for elderly clients or those with disabilities. But turning that idea into reality was a whole other story.

Starting a business from scratch felt overwhelming. How do you set up an LLC? How do you figure out how much to charge? And how do you get the word out about your business? Samantha had a great idea, but no clear roadmap to follow.

After hearing about New Growth from a local connection, Samantha decided to reach out. When she started working with Sydney at the New Growth Women’s Business Center, everything changed. Sydney's guidance and encouragement immediately gave her the confidence to start moving forward. They began meeting regularly at Precision Coffee Company near her in Nevada, Missouri, where Sydney helped Samantha break down the complex process of starting a business into manageable steps.

Support That Matters

Samantha needed help with marketing strategies, creating brochures and business cards, and understanding the legal steps involved in forming her LLC. Sydney guided her through everything from pricing her services appropriately to ensuring her finances were on track.

“I would have been doing it all on paper with a pen and pencil,” Samantha shared. “With the computer program, you just plug in your numbers, and it does all the math for you, so it cuts your time down a lot.”

The tools and expertise provided by New Growth were invaluable, especially for someone like Samantha who wasn’t comfortable with technology. Sydney not only helped her streamline the financial side of her business but also encouraged her to use new tools like AI to enhance her marketing efforts.

Building Confidence and Finding Balance

More than just practical guidance, Samantha says the biggest impact of working with New Growth has been building her confidence. Promoting her business was not something she felt comfortable doing, but Sydney’s creative ideas and supportive approach made a huge difference.

“Having Sydney sitting there on the sidelines cheering me on has been really awesome,” Samantha said. “I always look forward to our meetings because she’s always super positive about everything, and that has helped me out a lot.”

Finding a balance between affordability and profitability was a major concern for Samantha. With Sydney’s help, she developed a pricing structure that allows her to offer affordable services to her clients without undervaluing her own work so that she can provide this much needed service to the local communities in her rural area.
