Kimby Decker
Farm Manager, Millsap Farm
Kimby Decker is the Farm Manager and Cut Flower Grower of Millsap Farm in Springfield, MO. Curtis and Sarah Millsap started the farm in 2008 and Kimby joined in 2013. In 2015, flowers were added to Kimby’s list of responsibilities, and the farm started growing and selling cut flowers. Millsap Farm currently sells vegetables, cut flowers and an occasional pig to Springfield and surrounding areas through CSA (community supported agriculture), farmers market, and an on-farm produce stand as well as wholesale options to restaurants and florists. The farm also offers a weekly pizza night using farm produce during the warmer months of the year along with educational tours and events. Growing intensively on 2 acres of the 20-acre farm, the Millsap Farmily produces food year-round and flowers 9 months out of the year using organic and environmentally conscious practices. Many hands make this farm function with Curtis and Kimby as the lead farmers, Sarah as the lead marketer and pizza queen while several farm hands, interns, WOOFers and volunteers keep the wheels turning. The farm’s mission is to grow food and flowers that connect people to community and creation.
